Somehow I managed to get myself into a whole wknd of do-it-yourself projects over Thanksgiving break. I've wanted to tile a backsplash in my kitchen for a while. My neighbor Ben said he could help me out Thanksgiving morning - so thats when it all began. The tile went up pretty easy, we only needed to cut in a couple places.
Then on Friday my mom and brother and I started in on the family room in the basement at my mom's place in EP. Decided it was time to get rid of the 1960s paneling. The project consisted of 3 days of sanding, priming and painting the paneling and all the grooves. When I wasn't helping out in EP, I was trying to get my outlets replaced in my kitchen. Finally got that done on Saturday night. I was so tired Sunday night I couldn't get myself to grout. But I was determined to finish the project before going back to work - so I took Monday off and taught myself how to grout. I'm pretty proud of myself. Here are some before and after pictures.
